Wearever Cook & Strain 1.5-Quart Nonstick Saucepan with Glass Straining Lid wrong item pictured

wrong item pictured, (What's this?) This item was listed by Amazon as a Non-stick saucepan. After I received it, I realized it was a regular saucepan. Just to make sure, I called the company that makes it and they confirmed this. Wearever said that all of their Non-stick saucepans are coated on the inside and have red enamel on the outside.
Excellent product, (What's this?) Easy to lift, cleans like a dream -- even when I burned food onto the bottom. The only drawback: The knob on the cover gets very hot.
Newer is Not Always Better, (What's this?) Somewhat disappointed that it wasn't made as heavy as the product used to be made.
Great for everyday cooking; Straining water is challenging, My husband and I got this for our wedding last year, and it's the piece of stovetop cookware that we use most often. We make sauces and soups in the saucepan and sauté veggies in it. It's lightweight but durable and doesn't take up much storage space.

We often boil pasta for two and strain it through the lid without using a colander. It's a little challenging to do this, as the handle and top of the lid (both stainless steel) conduct heat. I wish they were coated in plastic or some other non-metal material. I'll wear an oven mitt on each hand and hold the lid on with my left hand while gripping the handle with my right and straining out the boiling water. It works OK but is tough when the water level is high.

Bottom line: this saucepan is excellent for everyday use. It's difficult but doable to use as a strainer, which is why I gave it 4/5 stars, but I'd still recommend it overall.
Great for drinking chocolate & sauces - Note it is not Red, (What's this?) The main description says Red at the end, but fortunately it is not red, but all Stainless Steel. I use almost nightly to make drinking chocolate.
WearEver 1 1/2 quart Pan, 3 quart pan, (What's this?) I love these pans. You can see how the food is cooking with the glass top and when it is finished you can simple strain out the fluids from the strainer holes in the lid. Also the pan has lips on either side so you can drain from either side. It's hard to find well made pans that can do what these pans do.
Love it !, (What's this?) I had a hard time locating this size and am very happy with my purchase.
Just what I was looking for!, (What's this?) This salt shaker and pepper mill set is just perfect! I love the way the clear acrylic shows off my multicolored peppers mixture and the grinder works great! The set looks very nice next to my stainless stove.
Perfect for Hot Chocolate!, (What's this?) We got this pan to make hot chocolate on the stove with milk. This pan works perfect for making and then pouring into mugs! No spills like traditional saucepans.
Disappointed, (What's this?) I generally don't buy cookware with riveted handles, but I love the pouring spouts on this cookware. I have had the larger 3Qt pot with lid and pouring spout for several years. I love it and use it constantly ... so I thought I would give the smaller sauce pots a go!

I recently ordered two of the small, Wearever, 1.2 quart saucepans from Amazon ... and was terribly disappointed. One out of the two leaks badly at the left side pop rivet. Unfortunately, I walked away about one minute after putting my brand new pot on the stove. I was making a honey infused sauce. The mess this darned pot made of my rather expensive, stainless steel, Bosch gas stove was horrendous! By the time I came back to the stove (maybe three minutes later), about 1 inch of the liquid from the pot had leaked all over the surface of the stove and the flame from the burner cooked it onto the surface of the stove. It took quite some time and a lot of elbow grease to clean up. All I can say is thank God for the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. They really are magic! Without them, my stovetop might have been permanently damaged.

I grew up using Wearever products and this experience has pretty much ended my relationship with them. Really poor quality control! How can ANY company sell a product with pop riveted handles and not at least test them to make sure the rivets don't leak? The other pot seems fine so far, but for obvious reasons, I don't have a lot of faith in it.

Cuisinart GreenGourmet Eco-Friendly Cookware 10-Inch Open Skillet Amazing for eggs. Bacon killed it *immediately* (2 yrs of use)

Amazing for eggs. Bacon killed it *immediately* (2 yrs of use), When you get this pan you will love it, because it is amazing. I have used mine for 2 years, though the coating only lasted 1 year. What killed the coating was frying bacon and sausage in it once. I am serious: ONE time and the coating was visibly damaged, and everything stuck to it afterward. If you only use this for cooking eggs and the like, and if you treat it well, it will be more than worth the price, probably lasting several years. For bacon, sausage, and general frying, use the right tool: a good cast iron or stainless steel pan. The "green" selling point is laudable, though I have not yet verified the manufacturer's claims.
Quality Pan but Disappointing "Non" Stick, We have owned a Cuisinart Green Gourmet 12" stainless pan (GGS22-30H) for several years now. In overall build, this is a quality pan. It is heavy, sturdy, and conducts heat reasonably well, though it takes a while to heat up. No complaints with overall construction. But we knew within a week that the non-stick coating was clearly inferior to other Cuisinart and similar high quality pans. It simply doesn't work as well. Fried eggs are a frustration. Non-stick spray is needed for most foods. The coating has held up well, but that is like saying tire tread is great when a car is sitting in the garage. If looking for high performance non-stick, look elsewhere.
ok when new but not anymore, (What's this?) I've had this pan about a year and a half. When new the non stick finish was not quite as good as a "traditional" non-stick but pretty close, but it's not so great anymore. It's been pretty gently used and there's not a scratch on it, but there's a large area that's either worn or has a coating that won't come off. (It looks worn.) So it's gotten used less and less over the last year, I keep going back to one of my regular non-stick pans and have started to look for a new "green" non-stick pan.

I suspect part of the problem is the bottom isn't flat. I guess it was when new as I didn't notice a problem immediately, but it didn't stay that way. So it doesn't work well on my glass cooktop which really needs flat bottoms, and I think the problem area corresponds with the low spot of the pan.
Great - At First, After a few months the non-stick surface wore off and things now stick like they were GLUED on!

Never abused the pan, always used olive oil, etc.

I called Cuisinart. They wanted me to ship it to New Joisey where it will take 4 to 6 WEEKS for a turnaround.

Um, nope. I'll be another pan - but not a Cuisinart.
NOT for use on Induction Range regardless of Product Description, (What's this?) I was looking for non-Teflon, non-stick cookware with the ability to be used on an Induction Range Top. The cartoon on Amazon's website specifically stated "Stainless Steel Induction-Ready Exterior". When placed on the range, I continued to get fault error messages. I then tried using a magnet to check for ferromagnetic properties on the skillet. The cooking surface and sides where attracted to the magnet, but the actual surface touching the range WAS NOT.
    Cuisinart sham warranty, (What's this?)
Simply amazing!, Let me just start off by saying that when you as a consumer are purchasing an item, you get what you pay for. This is a rule that should be applied to everything that someone purchases. This item is worth every penny of what you pay for it. What's more the maintenance and cleanup of this skillet is so very simple, quick and easy. (more on that later)

First off when you get this item, you will realize that Cuisinart is geared toward being easy on the environment with their packaging. The skillet is contained within a cardboard piece that although being simple, still feels of high quality and is printed with soy ink. The skillet is of high quality as well and you can tell this right away. It is about as heavy as cast iron, but is instead the best nonstick pan I have ever seen. You won't find the cheap T-Fal coatings here. The black hard anodized nonstick coating has a slick feel right out of the box and a shine as well. Absolutely beautiful!

Then, when you go to cook with it, you are going to be even more amazed! You don't need any fats, oils etc.. Unless you just want it for taste. Even without it, the food will sit on the surface, but doesn't stick, so there are no false claims here. My food turns out amazing, whether it be eggs, perfectly browned panckaes, or a nice steak! I surprised myself actually.

One thing to note however is the panics absolutely NOT dishwasher safe. But then again, you won't need that a simple rinse under the tap (and the surface repels water allowing it to roll right off!), a wipe with a towl and your good to go for the next time.
Perfect Pan, (What's this?) I have been using this pan for the past 2 months and I have no complaints. Food doesn't stick and it is very easy to wash (I always hand wash it). The "scratch-resistant nonstick ceramic-based surface" is holding up very well. I highly recommend this product. It's great that this pan is eco-friendly and "free of PTFE and PFOA".
Easy cleaning, (What's this?) I wouldn't call this a non-stick. More like "easy-clean" after soaking in water. Omelets stick pretty badly, pancakes need some extra oil, and crepes are too much trouble. It was really nice for the first few uses, but they all are for a couple of weeks. A different $7 regular non-stick pan that's a year old still does much better than this pan. I have an electric stove and it can be pretty tough on pans even if you're careful. Maybe on a gas burner it would have done better.
Christmas Gift, The 'gifters' seem to be happy with the gift and I liked that it was an eco friendly product. I would probably purchase this next time we need a pan.

The Camp Chef SK-10 Cast Iron Skillet, 10 Inch Diameter Great Skillet!

Great Skillet, (What's this?) I've been looking for a great skillet for over a year, and I found it! This skillet is great for everything. It does get very hot and is very heavy but it sure does the cooking right. I love it.
Great Skillet!, (What's this?) It heats evenly, never sticks and is a joy to clean.
Without hesitation I can say that this is one of the best that I have.
Useful pan, (What's this?) I've been getting worried about all the bad press non-stick pans are getting, so I decided to try a cast iron pan. I've used various stainless steel and cast aluminum pans.

This pan heats quickly and evenly - the handle gets hot so I keep oven mits handy. I love that I can use metal utensils. Cleanup is easy and quick. No worries about warping.
I love this skillet, It's heavy and good quality. I use it to cook salmon and steak and they came out juicy and tasted just the way I want. Great value.
Great Skillet, Took a few days to get it seasoned. Like the length of the handle and the angle, makes it easier to pick up especially since it's heavy. Works great, have used it for bacon, cooks it perfect. Cornbread, awesome. Would definitely recommend.
    Nice size, (What's this?)

Simply Calphalon Nonstick 2 Quart Saucepan with Cover Simply Calphalon

Disappointing quality at this price point, (What's this?) Unfortunately, I have to partially agree with the other reviewer who is displeased with the non stick coating on this particular saucepan. Upon arrival everything looked great, item arrived in perfect shape thanks to good packaging that protects it in shipment. However it's with the actual usability and longevity where this saucepan falls short.

I had only used the saucepan about 4-5 times over the course of about a month and around the 5th time of cleaning it with a nonstick safe soft 3M microfiber sponge, I noticed scratches on the surface of the non stick coating. This was especially perplexing to me since I had put such little use on it and had followed Calphalon's explicit care instructions.

I actually contacted Calphalon regarding these scratches and provided them with photos. I expressed my dissatisfaction with their product and inquired about a possible warranty replacement. They replied with this: "Based on the photos the surface markings on your nonstick Calphalon cookware is normal and to be expected under normal use and care. However the markings should not break through to the cookware core." They then provided information on how to return it for a warranty replacement, however based on their description of the marks, they are "normal". Since they don't break through to the core, it's doubtful that I would qualify for a warranty replacement and I'm not eager to spend the money to ship the saucepan back only to be told that it's not eligible for replacement.

What's curious about these "surface markings" is that I see none of them whatsoever on a Calphalon Contemporary saucepan that I purchased around the same time. Even though I've put the same amount of use on this other saucepan, and cleaned it using the exact same sponge, it displays no markings/scratches on it's nonstick surface and still looks brand new. I can only deduce that because it's a higher end offering from Calphalon, and thus it has a more robust and tougher nonstick coating.
I'm in love!, I am a total kitchen person! Love gadgets and cookware. I started out purchasing the Simply Calphalon one piece at a time and now I have a full fledged set and then some!! I have converted my daughter's, aunt and cousin to Calphalon and I cannot say enough good things about it!

Unlike other reviewers, I have never had any problems with the non-stick coating. However, I never, NEVER put these in the dishwasher and of course I only use Teflon/nylon utensils when cooking.
Heavy Duty, (What's this?) Heavy Duty pan...holds up to my wife burning our meals. Very satisfied with our purchase.
Product dimensions are smaller than indicated on the product page, (What's this?) Product Dimensions: 16 x 8.2 x 4.9 inches is given on this product's page.
The given dimensions are of the packaging, not the item itself.
The product is smaller than it is advertised on the product's page.
Unfortunately no return is available for this item. I have no choice but to keep it.
    http://www.amazon.
Simply Calphalon, (What's this?) It's a great little pan to fill in between my 1 qt. and 2 1/2 qt.
As advertised, (What's this?) This pot heats up when heat is applied and does not stick, as advertised. Can't ask for more.
Rubber Baby, Rubber, Rubber, and more Rubber. If you are going to use metal or wood utensils on this product or any other Nonstick Product, it will mess up the Nonstick surface. This Saucepan is the finest Nonstick Saucepan that I have ever owned. Words cannot express how much enjoyment I get from cooking Oatmeal, boiling eggs or for that matter anything else I choose to put into this wonderful pot. The quality of this product is far better than I could ever have imagined when I bought it. After more than 100 uses, my Saucepan is as new as the day I bought it.
Horrible quality and Health Hazard, (What's this?) I was always a fan of Calphalon, but this product line is not only junk, it's a health risk. The non stick coating on these items can be scratched off with a fingernail. There is no way that should be possible. They state that you should only use wood, plastic, or nylon utensils (no metal) with these, but the fact is even plastic scratches the surface right off. Not only does this mean the cookware is junk, but it means you're eating the surface with your food because it's flaking off that easily as you cook things. I was beyond shocked when I saw the scratches after the first use, and then ran my fingernail over the surface and easily scraped off all this black powder.

Cuisinart GG19-14 GreenGourmet Hard-Anodized Eco-Friendly Nonstick 1-Quart Saucepan with Cover Great pans

Cuisinart Green, (What's this?) This is a great little pot. very easy to clean. The nonstick surface seems very high quality.
this cookware is amazing!, (What's this?)
Such great cookware!, (What's this?) This cookware is AMAZING!!! Who needs some of cookware from some celebrity chef? These are the real deal and truly NON-STICK without any oils - just remember to always use silicone utensils and hand wash them - Cuisinart has made some truly professional cookware for the home cook - get yourself a set and enjoy! Plus the PRICES has been so reasonable....
rim of pot is already wearing, (What's this?) I wanted a small pot just to make such things as hard boiled eggs, etc. and thought this would be perfect. It is a bit light, but cooks well for the simple things that I need and cleans easily; however, I see that after only a few weeks the coating on the rim of the pot is wearing off. This pot does not go in a dishwasher, nor do I frequently use the lid. If the anodized surface is beginning to wear off, it does not bode well for the durability of the product.
Great saucepan, (What's this?) Replaced a beloved Cuisinart non-stick saucepan that had begun to peel (some visiting chef had the nerve to use a metal spoon!).
very pleased, (What's this?) Due to health concerns I'd never bought a non-stick pan until these "green" ones came out. It seems the surface of these is basically glass, with no chemicals.

This is a sturdy and attractive pot that heats quickly. I bought it mostly for boiling milk, especially skim milk, which sticks like a son of a gun with stainless steel.

No stick with this pot. The rounded upper edge facilitates pouring. Frustration turned to joy.
Great Pan!, (What's this?) I love this pan. I would love to find it on Amazon in the 2 quart size.
Great pans, I have had this type of pan and the whole set for over a year and have been very happy with them. The only thing that you have to watch out for are the handles on the covers. If you have been boiling something in it, on the stove, the lid handle will get hot, so don't forget to have a pot holder. Other than that the handle on the pan stays cool and I have had no problem with things sticking to the pan. If you don't spray the pan a little, then don't expect things not to stick. But they are great pans and would get another set in a heartbeat.
Nice little sauce pan, but only time will tell, (What's this?) I purchased this pan because I needed a new, small, non-stick pan, and really hate the glass lids that you find on most cookware today, which trap moisture, soap scum and bacteria, and take forever to dry after being washed. This pan has an attractive metal lid that is very functional, so I bought it.

The pan is made of heavy aluminum, with a nice flat bottom that sits solidly on my glass cooktop stove. Heating is quick and even, the non-stick coating does just what you want ... and it's very attractive to boot. Note that the pan is a bit heavy, the handle being solid metal -- and very comfortable, I will add -- so if you have any problem with the strength of your hands, that could be a factor.

Conair/Cuisinart does seem to get a little carried away with the whole "GreenGourmet" thing, with the instructions and packaging being rather over-the-top in pushing the whole environmentally-friendly thing.
Good Pan, (What's this?) The pan is better than the one it replaced after 30+ years of use. No sticking problems so far and even heat. The handle's curvature complicates nesting with my current mixed crop, but no complaints.

Paula Deen Signature Porcelain 9- and 11-Inch Nonstick Skillet Set, Aqua Gorgeous pans, but not for long

Pretty when new - scratches way too easily, I like the way food cooks in these skillets right now, but they are not quite two months old and already they are scratched. The the only utensils ever used in them are the ones that were sold with the set. I love them now, but am waiting to see what they will be like in a few months.
Gorgeous pans, but not for long, (What's this?) In terms of functionality, these pans do the job they're meant to do, which is why I kept the four star review. In all honesty though, people are buying these pans (and the other Paula Deen sets) because of how they look, which unfortunately doesn't last long. I used the set on a gas stove and the pans were discolored after a dozen or so uses, making them a mucky brown on the bottom and sides which were impossible to remove. The warranty states that discoloration is common. If you're getting these for their look, don't be disappointed when it doesn't last.
    1st Class, (What's this?)
Love the pans and color, (What's this?) I love these pans, I was pleasantly suprised by the quality, and the color is unique and fits in the decor of my kitchen perfectly.

Simply Calphalon Enamel 8 Inch Covered Omelette Pan, Black Terrifc Buy

Wonderful, (What's this?) Based on positive reviews here I decided to give this a try and it absolutely lives up to the high praise. Kind of spendy for me. I hope it lasts much longer than the pan it's replacing.
Great omelet pan., Great omelet pan. Needed a pan that wouldn't stick to the omelet. If cared for correctly should last a long time. Need to use silicone spatula and no scrubbing. Lightly wash by hand once pan is cooled. Egg does stick to rim and bolts of handle since not non-stick. I do not use non-stick spray with the pan after reading it deteriorates Teflon with frequent use.
Dream come true., (What's this?) The size is just what we wanted. The lid fits so the steam does not run down side of pan. The color is attractive and the handles are not slippery. The finish lends to low fat cooking with no food sticking to the bottom. We plan to use it for many years.
Love it!, (What's this?) Absolutely terrific reasonably-priced non-stick pan. I don't have anything negative to say at all. It's easy to clean and so far, we haven't burned anything in it. Nothing we've cooked has stuck to the pan.
Great little pan., (What's this?) The Calphalon Enamel 8" pan with lid is great. So far it has been totally free of sticking. It cooks all kinds of eggs very nicely. And I use the lid to thaw frozen vegetables before final cooking.
Nice pan,, (What's this?) I use this pan 3 to 5 times a week to cook eggs. My only negative observation is the rivets on the inside. I find egg stickier to clean than other foods anyway. The exposed rivets compounds this. The handle is comfortable & stays cooler than many similar pans. No need for a pot holder for the short cooking time and low heat needed for eggs. The handle is also relatively thick so if you hang it from a curved hook it's a bit tricky. All in all I am happy with my purchase.
Simply aweome is what they are, (What's this?) Very high quality pans and lids. As long as you use the teflon utensils and dont stick these in the dishwasher they hold their non stick.
Terrifc Buy, (What's this?) Great merchandise - was especially looking for the pan with the cover and you had it!!! Many thanks. Would absolutely purchase from you again. Thank Cooking.com.
Super Egg Pan, (What's this?) It is HARD to find an 8 inch pan with a lid - this pan is exactly what I spent months looking for. Great quality, decent price, what's not to like?

Now, it is up to you to create something tasty in it...
